if you dont think its a sata problem try using one of the standard ide 
ports, disable the sata stuf and see if it runs if it does.. then enable 
the sata stuf  see if it panics  if it still doesnt panic it may have 
some other weard issue with sata.   if it still panics with ata100 
drives you know its not the sata stuff.
