Dialin Access to Cable Modem

If you refer back a few posts, you will see that the dial up solution
was offered as useful and inexpensive enhancement to broadband. This
was to allow for someone to use to dial-up to DOWNLOAD EMAIL when they
were away from home - not as an additional 24x7 internet connection.

The original suggestion worked well because the guy in question had
internet access, but he needed dial-up to retrieve his Email. I assumed
there was some networking policy that was getting between him and his
personal Email. The suggestion fit well within the parameters of the
original problem.

If the solution doesn't work for you, perhaps you should stick with
AOL. I had not intended for my suggestion to be an invitation for bitch
fest. You don't pay for my analysis, so you do not have to listen to my
advice or value my opinions. (It also means that your blundering
arguments don't mean dick to me.)

I appologize to the rest of the list for venting my irritation, but the
sarcastic and superior tone of this post reminds me of some of the
incompetent (l)users I have had to support. They would rather whine
about a percieved problem than figure out what the heck they really
need. (Of course, they probably wouldn't be able to communicate it
clearly anyway!) These buffoons make it almost impossible to complete
an I/T project because the have no clue what they want, but they
invariably come up with a reason why a particular suggestion will not
fit their needs.

The Supreme Court has ruled that they cannot have a nativity scene in Washington, D.C. This wasn't
for any religious reasons. They couldn't find three wise men and a virgin.
