installing or using a CD burning package

Hello all:

As we move forward into the world of installing our Linux system... thanks to
everybody so far and to Rich Edleman who supplied me with SuSE 9.0 :-)

I have been trying to use the two CD burning applications that installed with
my distro and they are CDbakeoven and K3b... the CDbakeoven applet I am not
impressed with, it just made a coaster for me... the K3b is obviously not
supporting burning music CDs or doesn't support the MP3 file type...

So I went to get XCDRoast because I hear that it is pretty much the best, I
can't get it to compile because of some glib-config or GLib version
conflict... through Yast I have installed the glib-dev libraries and still no
dice. Does anybody know how to get around the problem... the configure
script returns the following:

checking for glib-config... no
checking for GLIB - version >= 1.2.3... no
*** The glib-config script installed by GLIB could not be found
*** If GLIB was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
*** your path, or set the GLIB_CONFIG environment variable to the
*** full path to glib-config.
configure: error: Test for GLIB failed. See the file 'INSTALL' for help.

no idea as I am a newbie at this compile your own stuff thing :-)

But I assume that it will not compile until this is solved.

Thanks in advance...
