Failed to install socket filter

Thanks a lot for the help, but none of those links have anything to do
with my error message. I have done the google/FAQ thing and got
nowhere.

I suspect (and this is just a hunch) that it has to do with the virtual
interfaces. I have had issues with them in the past and even if it is
not the problem, maybe someone can clarify this for me. I moved this
exact nagios config over to another box on the same network with the
same gateway but with only one IP and it is working fine. I was under
the impression that all it takes to add a second IP to a redhat box is
to configure ifcfg-eth0:2 with an IP, network, broadcast, and netmask,
assuming that the second IP has the same gateway as the first. For the
most part this works, but occasionally I come across a problem where the
server hears a request on one interface and then responds to the request
from another interface. I found this by debugging an access server that
was sending radius requests but not getting answers back.

Why would this be? Is there a route that needs to be added? Could this
cause the failure to install socket filter?

I must be missing something simple.

Thanks for any insight,

Brad
