I noticed the profound references to qbasic, office like applications, and
plugging hardware together 101.  He didn't mention experience with a
distribution or hacking code, but who knows, maybe he's a KDE guy, or
likes something different.  Fascinating how some people love to dive into
a new pool without testing the water first.  Maybe he is just one of those 
folks that learns how to swim better that way.
