Warning, I feel a rant coming on.

So, are the people who run music companies the biggest pack
of idiots on the planet or what? They seem determined to
alienate their customer base entirely. Guess what, big
music studios? We can do without your product! Most decent
sized citied have a decent radio station in the genre you
want (KC excepted, I am sad to say). Of course, the FCC is
trying to stop this too by allowing every station in the
counrty to be owned by one company. On a tangent, am I the
only person who thinks we might wake up in 10 years and say
"Hmm, every TV station, radio station, and ISP in North
America is owned by one company. Perhaps that wasn't such
a good idea."

Back to the original rant, I stopped buying new CDs a
couple of years ago out of anger with the major record
labels and the way they handled the whole napster thing. I
now only buy used CDs or those I can buy directly form the
artist. Don't get the idea that I am hostile to
intellectual property rights, because I am not. I just
think that the record companies missed an oppurtunity and
acted in a stupid and irrational manner. This new
development will drive even more people away from buying
CDs and I think that is good.

The new "uncopyable" CDs are out now, too, and aparrently
they don't work in many older CD players. What kind of
crap is that?

Whew, I feel much better. I hope all of you have a great
4th of July.

Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.
