Yes, but let me also point out that a BBS is a far cry from a mailing list.
 Usually people had to have a little intelligence and drive to get
themselves setup and on one, and it was more of a privilege than a "right"
in their opinion.  It seems to me (coming from a 1200+ list with ??? posts
weekly) that others don't have the "old tyme" net-etiquette.  

I for one hate spam.   Even if a company was offering a complete end to end
solution for every MS based product ever sold, it would be intrusive enough
to  not make me look at it seriously.   I realize there can be a fine line
between marketing and reviewing a product, but some of these "spam in a
can" messages we've got are nothing but bait for a luring market department.
