Do you know if communications companies offering digital high speed service plan to support Linux?

Maurice, generally people let the installer set the service up under
Windows and just fix it for Linux after they leave. I have heard of many
Linux users offering to help support their area's Linux users as long as
the service doesn't flake out about them using Linux. They are usually
afraid of the unknown. Later after they hire somebody that knows many OSs
they guy turns over support. I think Red Hat or Mandrake should send
simplified instructions or links to the Telcos for setting up boxen. That
would make it official, but the links people post here could be forwarded
to the telco yourself or by your friend. The problem is the telcos train
techs/installers only on windows. If you run OS/2, Linux or *BSD you
generally will have to do it yourself.
