LISP program

LISP is a programming language used for AI, but has also been used in projects like EMACS, the 
editor.  Lisp won't help you learn Linux, but will help you learn to program.

I have been taking the class on linux through the communiversity. I don't know what LISP stands for 
but wonder if this would be something that would help me learn more about what linux is?
