Debian: I like it :)

1. Debian provides "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86" Actually it works
for almost any package. If this doesnt work, as can be the case with X,
there is the old fashion way "vi".

2. Stability comes with a price. ie: can be a bit slower / behind on
versions. Sarge is in a feature freeze and pretty darn stable. I have
heard many claim www.gentoo.org is really good and stable. Peeked at it
a bit. The version numbers are more current. It is a source
distribution, meaning, the binary install is very small and then most
everything is built from sources (ie: long install time).

"woody" is the current "stable" version of debian. "sarge" is currently
testing. "sid" is always the name of the unstable version ALA Toy
Story. Note, only "stable" gets good/timely security fixes. Not a bad
policy, if you think about it.
	irc support is good : irc.debian.org - channel #debian
listserv support is good: www.debian.org - find the link

Hope this helps. I am on debian woody and sarge. A few key packages
have been manually replaced for newer versions: java from Sun, nitely
builds of mozilla :), exim for email.
