In my experience, a Linux server should run like the day it was 
installed...except when the power supply starts to go or memory gets 
flaky.  If you are free this weekend, I have an oscilloscope that we can 
check for noise on the power supply.  And we can check the memory with a 
copy of memtest86+.  A bad CPU can be checked by compiling a kernel as gcc 
is good by kicking out a "signal 11 buss error" if it stumbles on a math 
error.
