There is one other benefit that Linux has the is being over looked.
It's free to download.  Anyone can acquire a copy of Linux in its
various distros and ultimately the only thing the OS will cost them,
hardware aside, will be the time they take to put into it.  Think about
what it would be like is Microsoft made their software free for personal
use?  What if the only time a fee had to be paid for an OS or an
Application was when a business or corporation was using it as a
component of its business?  - Michienne
