Yesterday morning, a massive CME aimed directly
at planet Earth burst from the sun. It will hit earth
beginning about noon today.

It will directly affect satellites and many other radiation
sensitive contraptions.

It's the third largest ever recorded, and unusally rare in
that it is aimed right at us. If it is magnetically oriented
north, the magnetosphere will protect us. If it is oriented
south, we'll all notice. Sounds exciting.
