In stead of that I add them to the /etc/hosts file with an IP of 127.0.0.1
so when the browser goes to look for those adds it just gets the loop back
address.

Subject: One last thing about Flash

Oh yeah, I thought I'd share my favorite technique for dealing with Flash
ads.
(That's one of the stupid uses of Flash.)

I use Mozilla so I am used to using "Block images from this server" to get
rid
of ads. Sometimes this means losing images that are a legitimate part of
the
page. Oh well, I figure if the site is willing to put their real graphics
and their ad graphics in the same bucket, they've lost their image-showing
privileges. It's the words I came to see anyway.

To get rid of the ads in Flash that are now popping up like fruit flies, I
like to right-click and uncheck "Play" and "Loop", and then find a part of
the picture that doesn't have much on it, and repeatedly right-click and
"Zoom In" on that section until I just have a rectangle of one color.

The only problem is that some Flash ads now seem to have an abbreviated
right-click menu so you don't get those options. Curses! Foiled again!
