Wireless keyboard/mouse and Those extra fun buttons on keyboards

Anyone care to share experiences with wireless mice/keyboard (RF/IR)?

Anyone know of ways to get those cool internet buttons/dvd/cd buttons to 
do things in linux (since most keyboards seem to have them these days)
