Just want to let the LUG know that MicroCenter at 93rd and Metcalf is
selling Belkin PCI 10/100 NIC's for $1.99 (after in-store and mail-in
rebates). Good deal!

They're also selling OS'less desktops (pentium or better) for $39.

I would recommend using the ethernet connection rather than USB.  That way
you only need a Linux compatible NIC (which is almost anything), and it sets
up just like a LAN.
