Ctrl-Alt and F1 will get you a console. However your KDE session will still
be up in F7 if you want to switch back to it. To restart your X-server use
Ctrl-Alt Bkspce. To completely kill your X session and have only console
you will have to change /etc/inittab and set it to init level 3.

Subject: an easy one

Hey Everyone,

I have a very easy question. Before you mock me, be
assured that I have looked in but my manual and the
online KDE help and cannot find the answer.

First, I am running Mandrake 8.1. My question is this.
I use KDE. When I am in KDE, how do I quit KDE and
go back to the console? I have tried avery way of
logging out of KDE that I know, and have never been
able to get to a console. I'm sure there is a simple
key combination I can use. WHat is it, please?

TIA,

Eric
