Motherboard tips

It seems like we had this discussion, but I'll be damned if I can find it in
my archives. I need to replace my wife's mother board, so I'm going to
upgrade mine, and give her mine. :-) So what I would like to hear from you
guys is what's a good mother board? Any advice on what I should look for?
Do you think dual processor is a good way to go? I addition to the standard
uses (email, web, etc.) I like to mess with audio recording and I want to
start getting into digital video, so would I be better off with say a dual
700, or one really fast processor?

Let me know what you all think.

Thanks for your time,
Jim Herrmann
