Printing (with turboprint or without) inability

I am using CUPS and usb on my supported/unsupported Lexmark Z53.
Printing works ... in most applications. GIMP won't print and can't
print from the console. I figure I just haven't set something up right.
Printing is a nightmare in Linux. I suggest (too late for you) to buy
only
printers that are fully supported in Linux.

I'd try to install CUPS, and see if that helps.

BTW printing, where it works is nice on my z53.
Just wish I could use GIMP to print my photos [sigh].
