Looking for a Script...

I'm not even sure what I should have called this...

I'm looking for a certain functionality for my Synagogue website. People
commit to participating in a program on certain days of the week, and I want
a server-side database to email reminders to them a day before their
commitment. So, user A may get emails on Tuesdays, while User B may get them
on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Understand?

Can anyone recommend an out-of-the-box script that might do this?

Anyone want to write one? :)
