Normally you'll need to locate the kernel modules for it and use the insmod command to install 
them.  Then you'll need to edit the following files:

/etc/resolv.conf  -  Your DNS servers
/etc/sysconfig/network  -  Add your default gateway to the bottom
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0  -  Your IP information

I can send you examples of these files if you need them.  If you want to config using DHCP just 
make sure the BOOTPROTO= line int he last file says dhcp.  Also, for dynamic, you won't need to 
mess with the other two files.

how do I manually configure a ethernet card on redhat via the command console.  I did not install X 
at all mainly because I didn't care to take up the space.. I want to install the drivers mainly.
