You should also consider Delphi and Kylix from Borland www.borland.com

I use both in my development.  I don't use them together, as my needs
don't overlap os's.  But the language between the 2 is both object
pascal, and minus a few diffs in the librarys, works between the 2 os's
with very little changes.
