Top posting is fine, unless you have more than a couple of quoted
comments; then it needs to be put in chronological descending
order because it gets too complicated.

It is the only way to be clear that certain comments are my own. If the post is short I
>manually add the ">".
Top posting is also useful if you are agreeing with the person who
originally wrote, and simply articulating their point with more detail.
You're then essentially including their text as a footnote, saving
time for the people who are already familiar with the thread.
