knoppix kernel question

No, the current v3.3 Knoppix works fine and will go on an 700MB/80Minute 
CDR in overburn.  The thing is, I need to compile a module with the 2.4.20-xfs
kernel, hopefully included on v3.1.  I just don't have a ton of CDRs withme and
 its a long download.  It would suck to get the a version that is old and doesn't 
do what I need.

I have since googled for the full .iso name and found 2 locations with faster 
download times.  The original bombed out after about 10MB anyway.  I have 
one coming down at 90.9Mbps and another at about 30 via FTP.  Less than an 
hour left on the faster one right now.  Old Klaus Knopper just made his isos too 
big for most mirrors to keep more than two revisions around and most carry the 
DE and EN versions, so that's two 700+MB isos right there.

Unfortunately for me, the tiny LiveCDs leave some things to be desired, leave 
my wireless card twisting in the wind and have no compiler and no kernel source. 
The only way to compile with the tiny LiveCD usually is to install to HDD and add 
lots of stuff.  On DamnSmall you have to start by putting the dpkg structure back 
and then apt-getting dev tools or use tcc instead of gcc.  I guess life is full of 
little compromises.   I'll kludge it together somehow or drop the project.

I had a problem w/ damnsmall and flonix locking up my laptop the other night when 
I tried to mount my USB memstick.  Knoppix mounted fine, just had to right-click on 
the icon that pops up on the desktop.  I had forgotten to use the -t vfat switch on 
the other two distros.  This was also while trying to get to the source for my 
wireless card.  At least the small LiveCD isos have room to drop some of my files on 
the disk for portability, KNoppix is full.
