kernel 2.6.2 / sarge / cdrecord fails

Stupid question but, have you tried other disks in there?
It seems to be complaining about no disk in
the drive, or an unreadable disk in the drive.
I recently bought a 10 pack of CDs and 2 were unusable.
Same error message.
