Java and browsers

 It may be helpful to install the Java "vitrual machine" and "runtime 
environment".  It's a bout twenty megabytes of glop, but at least you can 
download it seperately from the development pack, at least from Sun.

All the different java options can also be multiplied by whether they're Sun 
java or IBM java.  (Didn't Microsoft release some incompatible stuff as 
"java" too?)

HTML.  That's all a real geek needs is HTML.
