Sigh, more FUD.

My favorite Windoze quasi-quote.
~"Windows will never run any DOS code if you don't call any legacy
routines."
Which is of course true, but since all versions of windows eventually
make a call to
the hard disk, you always call a legacy routine. Albeit in protected
mode.
Windows runs perfectly fine as long as you never add anything to it and
never run more than one process at a time. Ok, so if this is true what
good is it having a multitasking OS if you should never run or install
anything on it?

Nope, plenty of alpha quality programs out there.

So first Windows native CD writing software is fine and if you have all
the right drivers then Windows is fine, but now you say Windows devices
are a nightmare to set up? Well one is the near polar opposite of the
other. Personally I hope I never see XP on my desktop. It is an evil OS
with an evil EULA. It may work better than a bread slicer, but if I have
to give up my rights to use it, I'll slice my bread by hand. thank you
very much. I use Linux because it works better for most all of the
things I want to do. I have one or two small issues. Like my no name
brand webcam which has an alpha [very alpha] driver and I haven't got it
working yet. But since it was free, it isn't that high a priority. 2k is
fairly stable, but It's not worth $100 to me when I can get so much more
for my money with Linux.

But that is just my preference,
Brian
