NOT CORRECT.  10GbE (presuming you're not using fiber, or CX-4
(infiniband cables which look nothing like Ethernet) works 55m with
most equipment over Cat 6, and 100m over Cat 6a.  Most Manufacturers
recommend 6a so you don't have to keep track of incongruent cable
length limitations.  6a is not much more expensive these days than 5e.
 Anyone who is using 10Gbit networking at home in 2008 will have
enough money to afford cat 6a, or 7 if they want, and have it
professionally installed.

That said, the guy is wanting wireless solutions.  My advice, and that
of Linus Torvalds, is find an Intel brand wireless card so you don't
have to heckle with drivers.
