My negative average tone has been noticed before, and I apologize if it looks
that way.
In part, it's because the two main things I use the list for are to alert
other people to problems I've encountered, and to alert others to them.
Unfortunately, it's true that you get far less response to "how do I make this
work?" than you do to "this is a piece of crap, it doesn't even do foo!".
The former won't elicit any replies, even if people know, while the latter
will elicit indignant rage from a happy user, who will slam you down by
showing you exactly how it's supposed to be done.
As Montgomery would say, Eexcelent.
Oh, I also tend toward a rather bitter, sarcastic humor, which doesn't help.
