recommendation for laptop with Linux

I have a dell, lot of people have heard my story of getting ripped off,
but overall it is a good little system. ALL devices are now working in
linux, including speedstep for battery saving. Mine is an Inspiron
8500.  Performance in linux is great...  just don't let your warantee
run out....
