Is anybody familiar with Brandon Stewart's perl scripts from npscripts.com?
I inhereted a copy of his "subscriber" script for maintaining a one-way
mailing list, and on the basis of the features offered by his "subscriber
pro" version persuaded my boss to pay $100 for the latter.
We seem to be having a lot of trouble running the scripts though, and they
seem to have some pretty basic errors in them. Generally, they tend to
return a blank page and your not sure what they have or haven't done.
Part of the problem is that we do not have "root" access on the webserver
where they run - we just have a regular user account, and Apache runs the
scripts as "nobody", so we get interesting permission problems.
If you've had any experience with the above, have any advice about this stuff,
or have a good mailing list script to recommend, I'd be happy to hear about
it.
