You can always surf with a browser that doesn't have Java activated.  My work PC has IE with Java 
enabled.  I use Firefox without Java,  Flash, and Shockwave.   I just got sick of the ads that 
flash like I'm sitting in an old black and white B movie.  That said, I've never seen a Java virus.

I was wondering if any one had decent success with squid to keep java 
viruses out? more for win32 but for some reason they are really getting
