Two points:
1) you're confusing XWindows with the Window manager. XWindows
is very fast and efficient. KDE is not.

2) I suspect your version of KDE is badly messed up.

ok three points

3) Comparing a current KDE with Win95 is equivalent to comparing
Win95 to WinXP. But I agree KDE needs speeding up. I'm running
3.0 on my laptop which also has NT on it. I can tell you I can begin
using KDE faster than I can Windows. I've timed it.
