They've already fixed it with a supperceeded version of GPG signatures
called PGP/MIME. However, due to incredible incompetency on Microsoft's
part, several versions of Outlook do not conform to the relevant MIME
RFCs and either a) lock up or b) display nothing when attempting to view
a PGP/MIME email message. There are no other email clients with known
issues with regard to PGP/MIME. If I happen to be wearing my tin-foil
hat when you ask me, I might suggest that Microsoft is more interested
in promoting the pay-for-crypto services they offer as a certificate
"authority". YART Microsoft Sucks.

Also, Thunderbird has the rewrapping algorithum you describe, as well.
