Trying to compile kernel 2.4.20 on sparc64

This is with a vanilla kernel from kernel.org, but the same thing
happens with the 2.4.14 kernel sources that came with SuSe...

Are you using a vanilla kernel (i.e. from kernel.org) or the one already
on the system? If you are using a vanilla kernel, then you are probably
on the right track.  It looks like something has messed with your make
files.
