Censorship

You totally missed the point. I don't want some corporation telling me
what I think.
If I call a radio station with a request I expect to have them play it
unless it is some kind of music they don't play. Or would get them in
trouble. This woman expressed the opinion of herself and her group. She
should be allowed to do that without the fear of having her job taken
away from her. I think it is our duty to fight tyranny wherever we find
it.
HOLY TRIPLE STANDARD, BATMAN! We want to fight tyranny on others shores
but keep our own
hush hush.

Yes, way off topic and what about the rights of the radio stations to
voice thier opinions. HOLY DOUBLE STANDARD, BATMAN! What about my
right to disagree with what she said at the concert and boycot her music
and concerts.

I couldn't have cared less 5 minutes ago but now I'm torked off that you
are trying to enlist the help of this group in promoting your own
censorship.

Maybe next time you should stick to topic.

Aaron

Whether or not you listen to the Dixie Chicks, something has to be done
about the new campaign against all of us in their names.

This evening, Intercom and Infinity Broadcasting have taken it upon
themselves to censor the freedom of speech of Natalie Maines, the lead
singer of the Dixie Chicks, for remarks she made at a concert in London.
She paused between songs and proclaimed to the audience, "Just so you
know, we're ashamed [that] the President of the United States is from
Texas."

It is enough that these megla-conglomorates control what music people
know and therefore what music they accept; now they have taken it upon
themselves to control their listeners' thoughts as well. They have
pulled all Dixie Chicks songs from rotation in Kansas City and likely
elsewhere. HOLY WITCH HUNT, BATMAN!! And this two months before their
concert here!

If you have ever thought that you can make a difference, you can now.
Stand up for the rights of musicians to voice their opinions without
being punished. We have to do something. Below is a list of the three
radio stations in KC that are banning Dixie Chicks music, complete with
request lines, office lines, program and music directors, and more
importantly, all their advertising clients contact information. Call the
PD's and tell them they are Nazis. Tell them you won't listen to their
stations or go to any concerts they promote. Call the jocks and hound
them with requests for Dixie Chicks tunes. (this will be the hardest
part). Call their sponsors and tell them you are boycotting their
products and services unless this censorship ends. Tell them to pull
their ad campaigns.

As you sift through the advertisers, notice that Knight Ridder and Time
Warner are amongst them! This is UNACCEPTABLE.

The music community as a bloc has to stand up against this. They are
doing irreparable harm to hundreds of thousands of easily swayed minds
at a time when each of them need to think very logically about what the
country they live in is about to get itself into. And they are making it
seem like a funny little joke. We have to have the last laugh here.

I am forwarding this post and all of the information in it to MoveOn,
the DNC, F.A.I.R., InfoWars, Radio Left, the People's Voice, and
A.N.S.W.E.R. Take some time and act on this. The Virtual March on
Washington worked. This can too.
