To be fair, fileplanet is a pay-for service. They make money on the
quantity of downloads that go through their site. If they can put up a
2.5 GB set of files, they increase the size of their free download cues
by a certain number of hours and -- presumably -- get more people to
subscribe to their service to avoid those cues.

But this is still an important developement. The real challenge to Open
Source is finding ways to make it profitable to maintain, support,
develope and distribute. If another company has found a way to do that,
it's good news.
