known senders of _valid_ e-mail.  As a drastic spam-prevention measure,
MTAs will be configured to only accept e-mail that arrives from a
host listed on the real-time whitelist as matching the envelope sender
or a host listed on the real-time whitelist as sending e-mail with
VERPs.

The DNS infrastruture is used to distribute the load of all these
 lookups.
