Linux with swbell dsl?

Angela,

Some more information will be needed on your part. 
1.) Is the DSL adapter configured, this can be found
out using harddrake (runs in X and console)
2.) what type of authentication does SWbell use?
PPPoE?

I'd look up the 2nd one myself but research is a
valuable tool to have when using linux.
