I know some Mac users who are extremely proficient in various areas of
database design and management and network engineering. The ones I know are
also VMS experts, but the Mac is their primary environment.

So I wouldn't say that using a Mac means "I'm not really a computer guy",
but chances are it means "I don't know squat about Intel-type computing".
It does in this case, at least.
