putty has to be the most useful secure terminal tool ever.  I also use
gnu's "screen" which gives me unlimited virtual terminals that can be
detatched and reattatched, and even simultaneously over multiple computers
with the -x command.  That allows me to leave a shell open and access its 
screen buffer history at a later date at any computer I log into.
