How about:
dd if=/dev/floppy of=/tmp/dosdisk bs=512 count=2880 option=ignerorr 
or is it:
dd if=/dev/floppy of=/tmp/dosdisk bs=512 count=2880 conv=ignerror
?

Downside here is the blocks skipped over will be zero filled.
