Gentoo Linux Untar build-*.tbz2 problem

Anyone heard of this problem?

When I go to install the Gentoo distro, as stated in the documentation I use
this command:

tar -xvjpf /mnt/cdrom/build-*.tbz2

I get this error on the untar of the build-*.tbz2 file:

bzip2: Data Integrity Error When Decompressing.

tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Exit from previous errors

My system is the rc14 download ISO, Athlon 800, 384 Meg Ram, 20 Gig HD, PCI
GeforceMX400
