Kmail crashes

I prefer Evolution. I had a similar problem with KMail. 
I think it left a lock file or crash file or something, can't remember.
Once I deleted that file kmail was ok. It was either in one of the
hidden directories or
in /var somewhere. I'm sure the KDE people could help you.
