Changing X Server

I'm trying to get a previous install of a RH 7.2 system to come
up on new hardware. It works fine from the command line, but
getting the GUI configured is a bit problematic. Kudzu
recognized the video card and promptly decided to use the SVGA
server. This doesn't work with the S3 Virge card in the system.
It requires the S3 server to work properly. 
I have the S3 server installed on the system, but I'm not sure
what to do to get it to pick the right one. Hacking around in
the xf86config file hasn't served me very well. Any suggestions?
