Any secret to burning bootable CD's?

Got a nifty little pgm (mondo-archive) to try backing up to CD. It goes
through and makes ISO images of the hard drive, and it's all pretty
cool. I know I have decent ISO's 'cuz I can mount as loop dev's and
read away.

Now I try burning using Xcdroast. Get a nice CD, but it ain't bootable.

Looked through cdrecord manpage and don't see any nifty flag to make
bootable.

The image does have a boot.cat file in the root directory, and various
mindi-boot.<size here>.img files in /images, and my bios is set to boot
from CD, but no-go. Am I missing something? Here is an ls -l of the
image;

[root at BigBoss loop]# ls -l
