You might look into the Libranet distribution. It is based on Debian, but
with major enhancements. Unfortunately, their newest release is not
available for download yet.

I got decent download speeds from their French servers. It may seem strange
but since it's early evening already in France, their local traffic patterns
will die off soon.
On a somewhat related note, does anyone know of a distribution that is based
on using the 2.4 logical volume manager for disk allocation? You'd probably
still have to have / and swap in 'real' partitions but everything else
should
be able to be stuck in a logical partition. I'd love to be able to grow
/usr
or /var without having downtime...
Any hints?
