How are they using NT4 on a mainframe?

What kinds of applications are they running now and what do they want to
run?

A local library system I know of in the not too distance future will
be switching to another OS and hardware platform. I'm not sure of a
time frame. But I do know they're using NT4 on a mainframe. Any
Linux-oriented URLs, documentation, etc. you can suggest that I could
send them would be appreciated.
