Consider that in states that support carrying concealed weapons by making it
easy to do so, the violent crime rate is down.  Would be muggers, robbers,
rapists, and assaulters must consider if their intended victim is armed and
will retaliate.

Training in weapons proficiency helps as does training in when weapons
should be used.

Of course there is always that 10% that doesn't know, doesn't care, or
abuses any privilege.

One of the things that's always bothered me the most about the whole gun
thing
is that the people who seem to want to carry them most also seem to be the
people whose judgement in using them wisely and ethically I trust least.
