Code Red on RoadRunner

All of this is really funny to read (not because viruses are funny).
The media and Microsoft make a VERY big deal out of Code Red and tell
everyone to patch their servers if they're running IIS and the like, and
all of these companies (Roadrunner, MCI, Qwest, etc.) still wait for the
problem to punch them in the nose so that they can bleed bandwidth all
over the place before they fix it.

So much for being proactive :).

I am hearing from a friend at MCI Worldcom that they have been hit so
hard, their internet access has been shut off - they only have email.

Well, at least KC is better of than Minneapolis. From what I'm getting
from one of our clients up there. Quest is using Cisco DSL routers
everywhere. Apparently Quest has been hit really hard there, I know it
is a nightmare for me. I'm getting pages every couple of hours when the
routers go down and my automated EDI scripts can't access the internet.
And I can't even do anything to control that, because that is a
hardware/firmware issue, which is affecting my software applications!

YeeeeHaaaaaaaaw !

Brian
